Police after dirt on bikers

Blenheim police have asked the public for assistance looking for two people on dirt bikes Sunday evening.

"Police sighted two dirt bikes, who we had earlier received a report of, travelling on Hospital Road, Blenheim around 4:15pm yesterday", said a Police spokesperson.

"Upon seeing Police the dirt bike riders turned around and travelled away from Police.

"Police maintained long range observations of the dirt bikes to Taylor Pass Road where Police activated our sirens, the motorbikes failed to stop and continued through the Taylor River reserve, and across town.

"Police did not pursuit, and set up cordons on roads nearby, however they were not located".
