Finding Private Webber
Walk in the footsteps of Gordon Webber on his journey from isolated French Pass to the heat of battle in North Africa and Italy and back to life at home.
Presented by Angela Fitchett
The Marlborough Provincial Museum is proud to present the first Marlborough presentation of author Angela Fitchetts's new book, Finding Private Webber.
The book follows the steps of Gordon Webber on his journey from isolated French Pass to the heat of battle with the 23 Battalion in North Africa & Italy and back to life at home again.
The author's presentation will bring alive a book about one young New Zealander's WW2 service and his struggles with its consequences.
With a strong link to Marlborough, Gordon Webber's true life story will resonate with all New Zealanders whose family includes returned servicemen, and will also appeal greatly to anyone with an interest in French Pass, D'Urville Island, Nelson and Marlborough.
