Rangitoto ki te Tonga, D’Urville Island is the largest island in the Marlborough Sounds and one of New Zealand’s best-kept secrets. Named after French explorer Jules Dumont D’Urville, this isolated sanctuary offers sweeping ocean views, ancient native forest, and a chorus of native birds including kākā, weka, tui, and bellbirds. With no possums and minimal development, D’Urville is a haven for wildlife and a breath of fresh air for the soul.
