About The Blenheim Salvation Army

The Blenheim Salvation Army works throughout Marlborough to care for people, transform lives, and reform society. Our Family Store serves to generate funding for this mission in Blenheim, as well as being a point of referral to our other services and providing employment and volunteer opportunities in the community.

About the role

The Family Store Retail Assistant and Driver will ensure the store presents a positive image of The Salvation Army in line with its mission of caring for people, transforming lives, and reforming society. The Family Store Retail Assistant and Driver will collect, deliver and assist with processing goods to, from, and in the Family Store in a way that provides excellent service to our customers and donors (both in-store and in the community) with maximum efficiency.

Key tasks:

  • Maintaining good customer service with customers and donors
  • Collecting and delivering of goods in our truck
  • Processing of donations into the store
  • Storing and goods management of donations and purchases

Person specification:

  • A current clean full driver's licence
  • Physically fit and capable of frequent lifting
  • Good customer service skills
  • Good spatial awareness
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
