The Marlborough senior men’s cricket team play their final match of the season at Horton Park on Sunday.

They meet old rivals Nelson, the current holders, in the second leg of the annual Newman Shield home and away fixture, played over 50 overs.

Marlborough will be keen to end a difficult season on a high note, having struggled for batting consistency in both red and white ball cricket.

Play begins at 11am.

The team is: Corey Bovey, Andrew McCaa, Luke Holdaway, Joel Lavender, Sam Young, Griffin Carter, Aiden Conroy, Sam Boyce, Kirk Nicholas, Zariab Karkaria, Piers Landon-Lane and Archie Cornelius.

On Saturday the second and third grade 40-over finals will be contested, also at Horton Park, followed by the end-of-season prizegiving.
