Spicing up lunchtime

A popular local pop-up food business has set roots on Scott Street with Boom! opening their first brick-and-mortar store last week.

After eight years showing up at any range of events to provide his brand of firey, flavoursome cooking, Boom Chef Fran Nolan is hopeful the new lunch bar will bring the boom to people’s lunch breaks.

“We moved in a few months ago as we’ve been making harvest meals out of here, but getting the doors open properly was great and we’ve been pretty consistently busy,” says Fran.

“Having a full-time staff that I’ve worked with before and a commercial kitchen means we’ve been able to expand our offerings in both our menu and cabinet food which is always exciting.”
