Marlborough teams enjoyed plenty of success at the recent Betty Woodham Top of the South Tournament played at Lansdowne Park.
The annual development tournament, for under-16 netballers, attracted teams from Selwyn, Golden Bay, Kaikoura, Nelson and Buller.
Marlborough fielded three teams - Gold, Blue and Red – the first two sides winning two out of their three matches. The Gold side lost by two to the top Nelson combination, then defeated a strong Selwyn side by two goals.

The under-16 girls have been busy, the previous weekend two sides, Gold and a Development team, journeyed to the Tupuranga Championships in Ashburton, a trip designed to let the girls test their skills against other Mainland sides.

Under-16 Gold
beat West Coast 27-14; lost to Christchurch White 36-33; beat Selwyn B 27-8; beat North Canterbury 27-19; drew with Christchurch Mixed 25-25; beat Marlborough Red 25-15.
Under-16 Red (Development)
beat South Canterbury 29-23; lost to Nelson Gold 26-25; lost to North Canterbury 21-22; lost to Christchurch White 41-21; lost to Central Lakes Blue 29-16; lost to Marlborough Gold 25-15.
