Sunday’s annual More FM Picton Mid-Winter Swim, supported by Cuddon Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, saw many brave souls take a dip off the Foreshore.

A high temperature of 10 degrees Sunday didn’t turn away brave swimmers, who warmed up for the deep freeze with Blenheim F45 trainers. However, many eager kids were in the water ahead of the midday dip with a watchful eye from Rarangi lifeguards

Blenheim Rural Fire Force and Vinarchy Wines provided a warm collective shower and Picton School, Waikawa Bay School and Queen Charlotte College provided fundraiser hot chocolate, soup and sausages.

Prizes donated from local supporters included a Mitsubishi heat pump installed from Cuddon, for lunch, Best Dressed winners receiving Fresh Choice vouchers as well as spot prizes from Toastie Lords, Picton Hammer Hardware, Every Little Thing, Overflow and Picton Pharmacy.
