The traditional treat of a palate-cleansing orange addition to a Blenheim café’s coffee will remain, even as a Kiwi favourite is being discontinued.
CPR Coffee had indirect prior notice from their suppliers that Jaffas were being discontinued – having moved to another company’s chocolate orange balls as a replacement.
“Our suppliers weren’t able to get Jaffas in bulk for the past few months, so we had to make a change to keep our little tradition up”, said CPR owner Deb Romano.
“It became our go-to little treat to cleanse the palate here at our Blenheim store and customers love getting a little something on the side – our Stadium 2000 and Marlborough Airport shops have their own little additions to the menus there.
“We’ll stick with the orange chocolate balls for now, but some regulars even request specific treats like chocolate hearts or liquorice, depending on the season,” she added.
