Nelson players dominated the Perry Shield table tennis competition staged at the Simcox Stadium on Saturday.
The visitors left with the trophy after shading their Marlborough counterparts 40-26 in matches played and 142-105 in games.
Nelson won the upper men’s singles 6-3, the lower men’s singles 8-1, the women’s upper singles 5-4 and the lower women’s singles 5-4. They also won the men’s doubles 6-3 and the mixed doubles 7-5, while the home side scored their only category win in the women’s doubles, combining well for a 6-3 win.
Nathan Watson and Jacqui Wood both registered two wins in the singles for Marlborough.
Marion Wood won two singles in the lower women’s singles and combined with her daughter Jacqui for three women’s doubles wins.
Matt Millar and Jason Kennedy managed two men’s doubles wins. Nathan Cross and Supreya Prasertsakda picked up two wins in the mixed.
Nelson also prevailed in the accompanying Couper Shield competition, winning 22-14, and 79-63 on games played.
