After more than three decades of dedicated service in their long-standing Boyce Street location, Springlands Veterinary Centre is excited to welcome existing and new clients to their superb new, purpose-built vet clinic at 61 Rene Street in Springlands, ushering in a bold new chapter.

Dr Jeremy Forlong, who took over the business in April 2022 alongside his wife Angeline, under their company Pet Safe Haven Limited, couldn’t be more thrilled with the result. “This has been a big step but something we’ve been working on for a long time,” says Dr Jeremy Forlong, director and veterinarian. “A growing demand for our services, evolving medical technology, and an expanding team made it clear that the clinic had outgrown its space. The decision to move was both exciting and necessary. We needed to be in a space where we weren’t tripping over each other and could provide even better care to our patients while continuing to honour the incredible legacy this clinic has built up throughout the years.”

As Blenheim’s only independently owned and exclusively companion animal Veterinary clinic, the new premises have been thoughtfully designed to improve the overall experience for both clients and their pets. The clinic has a spacious, open-plan reception area with separate cat and dog waiting zones to reduce stress for animals. There’s also dedicated off-street parking, a welcome relief for many pet owners who previously navigated busy roadways.

Behind the scenes, the improvements are just as impressive. The clinic features a purpose-built imaging suite, including a new floating ‘bucky’ table for more efficient and accurate X-ray and ultrasound diagnostics. There is also a dedicated dental radiograph facility, a lined imaging room, and an isolation area for contagious cases.

“Our new diagnostic tools mean we can catch issues earlier and treat them more effectively,” says Jeremy. “We also have a dedicated pharmacy room, which will streamline medication management and improve client service.”

As the clinic grows, so too does its talented team. Springlands Veterinary Centre is excited to welcome a new veterinarian from Australia this September, bringing their team to six dedicated companion animal vets.

“We’re thrilled to be expanding the team,” Jeremy shares. “It means shorter wait times, more flexibility, and a broader range of expertise available to our clients.”

Clients have already expressed excitement about the move, particularly appreciating the spacious new premises and the increased parking availability. Feedback on the facility has been overwhelmingly positive, with many impressed by the fresh, clean aesthetic and thoughtfully designed kennels and cattery spaces.

“People love the layout and the calm, welcoming feel,” says Jeremy. “We’ve had long-time clients walk in and just smile – that’s incredibly rewarding. Our staff too are really appreciating the wonderful new facilities and ease of working in it.”

Despite the move and all the exciting changes, one thing remains the same: Springlands Veterinary Centre’s unwavering commitment to their clients and patients. The clinic continues to operate seven days a week, including select public holidays, and still offers 24-hour emergency services.

Springlands Vet takes pride in offering tailored treatment plans that respect the unique needs of every pet and owner and now has the space and facilities to an even greater degree.

“This move is only possible because of the support we’ve received from the Marlborough community,” says Jeremy. “We’re incredibly grateful. We are all pet lovers here and it has been a privilege to care for your pets, some over many years, and we’re so excited about what we’ll be able to offer going forward.”

Springlands Veterinary Centre’s move to 61 Rene Street represents more than just a change in address – it’s a promise of continued growth, enhanced care, and a renewed commitment to serving pets and their people with compassion and excellence.

“We look forward to seeing you in here soon, even if it’s just to come and take a look and have a chat about all the services we can now offer,” says Jeremy.
