Contracts have been confirmed for Blenheim’s new hotel with Capstone Hotel Management coming aboard to run The Alfred Hotel due for 2027.
The six-storey, 123 room hotel will be operating in conjunction with the Marlborough Wine and Food Experience which launches in September, followed by the opening of restaurant Oak and Ivy, then the Alfred Hotel.
After receiving planning approval in July for the hotel, it will connect via skybridge to the Marlborough Wine and Food Experience, ASB Theatre, and Marlborough Events Centre creating a modern hospitality, conference and entertainment precinct along the Taylor River in Blenheim’s CBD.
“We’re delighted to be appointed managers of The Alfred Hotel as part of this exciting riverside development,” said Clare Davies, Managing Director at Capstone Hotel Management.
“This new-build hotel marks a significant milestone for Blenheim’s hospitality sector which is in need of new hotel supply, and form part of a world-class entertainment and tourism precinct on the banks of the Taylor River.”
Developer Chris Thornley was “pleased to entrust Capstone Hotel Management with our first hotel development”.
“The Alfred Hotel represents our vision for creating a distinctive riverside hospitality destination that will positively contribute to the local tourism economy.
