For Cat Marsh, real estate isn’t just a job, it’s a calling that brings together her love of people, her background in sales, and the dedicated support of her close-knit family. As one half of the Jackie Herkt Team at Bayleys Marlborough, Cat works alongside her mum, Jackie Herkt, who has been active in the industry for 30 years.

Cat joined the business in 2023. “I’ve always been passionate about customer service and connecting with people,” she says. “Real estate lets me bring those passions together in a meaningful way.”

With Jackie’s 30 years of knowledge and deep community ties, Cat has found the perfect mentor and teammate in her mum.

“The industry is buzzing in Marlborough right now,” says Cat. “Whereas some people are wanting to downsize into a comfortable, low-maintenance house where they can go away on holidays and make new memories, others are keen to upgrade. With interest rates coming down, first-home buyers are also on the increase.”

Having recently sold her own property, Cat understands firsthand the mixed emotions that come with the process, which helps her empathise deeply with clients going through life changes. “It is often a very emotional experience, and people need support beyond the paperwork. That’s where I can help,” she says.

The team are known for offering a full-service experience, helping clients from start to finish. If needed, they can call in their trusted network of cleaners, stagers, and tradespeople to ease the process, especially for those who feel overwhelmed. “We like to make people feel confident and cared for. At the end of the day, we want them to feel happy about the whole experience.”

Behind the scenes, Cat’s real estate journey is powered by her family. With two young children, aged seven and nine, and a supportive husband, the juggle is very real but one she embraces. “My husband takes the kids motorbike riding on Sundays while I’m at open homes. The kids are amazing and adaptable. We’re a strong team at home and I couldn't do what I do without their support.”

With her warm, engaging personality, strong family foundation, and deep-rooted love for helping others, Cat Marsh is quickly making her mark in Marlborough real estate, one home, and one relationship, at a time. “It is such a privilege to work with clients and help get the very best outcome for them, whatever their goal.
