Marlborough District Council has publicly shown its support of families who has lost little one’s as part of the global ‘Wave of Light’.
Held each year during Baby Loss Awareness Week (October 9 - 15), the ‘Wave of Light’ culminates on International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day (October 15), when candles are lit and landmarks around the world glow in soft shades of blue, pink, and purple.
In Marlborough, this year’s lighting-up included the Blenheim War Memorial Clock Tower and Seymour Square Fountain, alongside many other landmarks across New Zealand, from clock towers and cathedrals to fountains and bridges.
The event brings visibility to a loss often carried in silence, offering families a shared space to remember, reflect, and find comfort in knowing they are not alone.
