Deck Seymour Square with boughs of holly and hang mistletoe on the trees at Pollard Park - Christmas celebrations arrived in Blenheim Saturday.

For the second year in a row, the annual Blenheim Santa Parade making a loop through town was followed by the Mitre 10 Mega Christmas in the Park.

Blenheim CBD’s footpaths were filled with keen watchers on, as churches, community groups and volunteer organisations made the procession with the big man in red himself, accompanied by many elves, at the end of the celebrations.

The esteemed judging panel voted the overall winning float and best community float to be the Scouts with their Polar Express, while best walking float was Blenheim Roller Skating Club, and best commercial float was the Michael Rae Ray White and Marlborough Four Paws Grinchmobile.

From the CBD it was onto Churchill Glade at Pollard Park, where the community came together for a night of carols and performances at the Mitre 10 Christmas in the Park.

The sea of camping seats was entertained by the Mitre 10 Mega Children’s Choir, both on their own and supporting 12-year-old singer Emily Mackay and the Harvest Band.
