Traffic Alert: SH1 at Hundalee

Drivers on State Highway 1 could experience delays around Hundalee on Saturday.
According to reports, a slip and a tree blocked the road at the bottom of the Hundalee Hills in the early afternoon, interrupting traffic both to and from Kaikoura.
A post on the Facebook group Marlborough Cool Cats indicated no contractors were on site "but locals have a chainsaw and a tractor and are trying to clear it."
Consider a detour if possible or allow extra time through Canterbury.
