Traffic alert: SH1 near Lake Grassmere

State Highway 1 has been closed near Lake Grassmere in Marlborough as police respond to a single-vehicle crash reported around 7.30am.

Police say one person has been seriously injured. The Serious Crash Unit has been notified, and as of the 8:43am advisory, SH 1 in the area is closed as emergency services attend the scene.

Police advise motorists to use alternative routes and check NZTA’s Journey Planner.
