UPDATE: Cyclist killed in SH1 crash

A crash near Lake Grassmere that closed SH1 on Monday morning proved fatal.
Police announced at 3:30pm that the collision between a car and a bicycle resulted in the death of the cyclist on the scene. Another person sustained moderate injuries.
The road has reopened. Circumstances of the crash are being investigated.
Police and emergency personnel responded to the accident which took place around 7.30am.
