Local pride
Re: “Anru looking good in black”
I recall the first time I saw you play in Renwick -- your talent was evident even back then. I was cheering you on with such enthusiasm that your family was amused, and I had only just learned your name.
When I met your father in town, I shook his hand and told him that I believed you had what it took to make the NZ team. It’s amazing to see how far you’ve come!

Bright future, my man.
—Avetaia Vularika

Super proud coach to have had him part of my academy in SA. He was meant for greatness. Maybe the next Dan Carter – or, better, Anru Erasmus.
—Gideon Stander

Tragedy avoidable?
Re: “Cyclist killed in SH1 crash”
The Whale Trail is well-built and obvious alongside SH1 the whole length of the salt lakes, precisely where this accident happened. We were held up at the cordon, and I spent the whole three hours wondering why it hadn’t been used. Sad.
—Sally Billington

Electric plane’s profile
Re: “Look! Up in the sky!”
I love how it looks like a massive passenger jet on Flight Radar!
—Aimee Moore

Wine Race windfall
Re: “Yachties’ patience pays off”
Thank you for an amazing prize. Geoff and I thoroughly enjoyed our day. The racing, food, wine, and especially the company will be very memorable.
—Sharilyne Waldron

Edwin Fox S.O.S.
Re: “Dry dock at risk of failing”
Because Port Marlborough has bigger ideas for that piece of prime waterfront.
—Andy Walter

So, the most expensive outcome ever is the only option-- good one, paid experts. How has this structure passed health and safety and earthquake safety for visitors for the last 10 years?
—Jamarl Thomson

Move it; it’s an eyesore.
—Rodney Blackburn

Key to success
Re: “How to win a council seat with $58”
Cyril is a top man and very well known in the community. He always takes the time to talk and listen to what people have to say. That’s why he was voted in. All the best, Cyril.
—Ross Barnes
