Should shops open for trading on Easter Sunday? Marlburians can give their opinion on the matter after a Marlborough District Council action on Thursday morning.

Council intends to renew a policy established in 2017 that grants exceptions to restrictions prescribed nationally for the holiday. Marlborough currently allows local businesses and retail employees the option of opening and working, respectively, on Easter Sunday.

Councillors voted unanimously to put the proposal out for public review starting Friday. The timeline aims to have a renewal in place by Easter 2026.
