The Marlborough Multicultural Festival marked two decades of cultural celebration in style on Saturday, a record number of festivalgoers packing out the Churchill Glade venue.

The sun shone as brightly as the outfits, with the crowd enjoying performances from a selection of talented performers celebrating their culture on stage.

The day culminated with the 2pm parade where every organisation present took part. The crowd also joined in the fun, with a conga line making its way past the main stage.

“We’re really happy with the day,” says Marcelo Gonzalez, the Marlborough Multicultural Centre’s sports and cultural events manager and  festival site manager.

“It’s been busy since early in the day and stayed that way throughout. We’ve had really good feedback from our stall holders with a few vendors selling out.

“Thank to you to all the sponsors and attendees, the MMC team and volunteers. Without them this great event wouldn’t be possible. Gracias Marlborough, thank you for everything and see you soon.”
