Twelve Marlborough athletes came away from Nelson’s Saxton Fields as Tasman champions last weekend.
Boasting a team of 37 athletes, the Marlborough Children’s Athletics Club was well represented at the annual Tasman junior championships, staged on February 28 and March 1.
Competing against the Marlborough contingent were athletes from the Richmond, Nelson, Takaka and Motueka clubs.
The Marlborough management said, “We’re proud of every one of them for stepping up, competing hard and supporting each other. It was a fantastic result and a proud moment for our club.”
Ultimately, a dozen of the team from over the hill claimed Tasman titles across a wide variety of age groups.
