Cancer Society Marlborough has repurposed their garage space at their office at 76a Maxwell Road to add another string to the bow of the charity.
Mayor Nadine Taylor officially opened “The Nook” with a ribbon cutting on Tuesday 10 March, an event which was well attended by volunteers and friends of the organisation. Celebrations continued with a morning tea donated by Urban Fare catering.
The renovation has been on the cards since Philippa Hatton, general manager started in May 2025 and was helped along by Blenheim Menzshed who built the shelving and The Marlborough Guild of Woodworkers who provided the sign above the garage directing people to the shop as well as volunteers and members of the public who have donated items for sale.
The shop hosts a curated selection of books and jigsaws, and cancer society sunscreen and hats too. Hours for the shop are to be confirmed, but for any further detail get in touch with Cancer Society Marlborough on 03 579 4379.
