Severe Weather Watch issued for Marlborough

MetService advises Marlburians of a Severe Weather Watch for rainstorms starting on Thursday and continuing into Friday.

Starting at 6pm Thursday, inland ranges west of the Seaward Kaikoura Range and south of Picton should receive periods of heavy rain – "amounts may approach warning criteria." The watch should end 3pm on Friday.

MetService's announcement Wednesday indicated that "a deep sub-tropical low approaches New Zealand in the coming days, with heavy rain and strong northeast winds spreading to many regions."
