The Bateman Motorsport NZ Streetstock Grand Prix returns to Eastern States Speedway on Easter Friday and Saturday for two nights of high-stakes racing, with the final SNZ title of the season still up for grabs.
Postponed earlier in the year due to rain, the meeting marks a shift back to individual honours after a run of team events, with drivers chasing the coveted Grand Prix title.
Reigning New Zealand champion Paul Leslie will be the one to watch. The Blenheim driver claimed his first national title in 2023 and arrives as the benchmark for the field.
He will face strong competition from Canterbury, led by Matt Peterson and Jono Garthley, who will be keen to complete a clean sweep of SNZ titles after helping clubmate Mike Jones secure the South Island title.
The two-day Grand Prix combines with the Nelson club’s Easter Series, delivering three consecutive nights of racing. The series wraps up on Easter Sunday and features stockcars, superstocks, youth ministocks and productions. Racing gets under way at 5pm each night.
