Matt Flight has reentered the political arena after a brief hiatus by standing for Parliament as the Labour Party candidate for the Kaikoura Electorate.

A Marlborough councillor in the previous term, Matt chose not to seek reelection as a Blenheim Ward representative. He makes a second run for Parliament this year.

Matt is vying for the MP position held for four terms by Stuart Smith of the National Party. Former Councillor Jamie Arbuckle currently serves in Wellington, too, as a List MP for NZ First.
