Marlborough District Council called an extraordinary meeting for Thursday (16 April) to advance a financing proposal for the Waitohi Ferry Redevelopment Project.
At the 9am session in Council Chambers, councillors will consider approving a Statement of Proposal and public consultation on $110 million in funding and financing as Port Marlborough’s share.
The deliberation comes on the heels of an Interim Development Agreement (IDA) which Council signed with Ferry Holdings Limited.
That pact, Council explained this week, "enables transition works to proceed while establishing the commercial, governance and management framework needed to advance the project to the final stage of delivery (subject to Shareholder approval) in June."
