Day to remember
Re: “Marlburians mark Anzac Day”

Extremely well-presented service honouring our brave men & women. Felt honoured to be with so many attending.
—Kathy Mackenzie

Such a well-put-together ANZAC service and presentation led by our capable Nadine. Thank you to all service groups for turning out so beautifully; most sharp. Full marks!
—Brian Ro Allan

Port or starboard?
Re: “Ferry financing feedback”
What a great asset for the region. The ferry is the lifeline to Picton and wider Marlborough and accounts for many jobs, industries and tourism.
— Leanne Dodson

Clear extortion. The rebuild has started, and it’s not like you’re going to stop.
—Jamarl Thomson

No friggin’ way; it is a business and should be able to borrow against projected income/profit.
—Greg Dowling

Why isn’t Central Government paying? It is State Highway 1, and so Government needs to foot the bill.
— Fran Bee

If the money is from a Government-backed source, then why doesn’t the Government borrow it themselves?
— Alister Nicholson

Do you [Council] really care about what we think? I’m sure you already have a plan and probably plan B, so why?
—Joe Wade

Too late. Council have made up their mind, it’s all for show.
—John Brown

Solar farm views
Re: “Harvesting power from above”
Great, but could have put them on the hill instead of a main paddock on way into Blenheim; bit of an eyesore.
— Shane Parnell

At least the vineyards look good, though, aye.
— Bjorn Cowdrey

I think it looks progressive, modern, and I’d be proud of it. I hope they pop up on more marginal land around NZ and we move into being clean, green, warm and pollution-free.
—Max George

Looks good. The grass will love the shade.
—Phil Green

Scheme’s payoff
Re: “Local harvest needs global hands”
It encourages me that people keep coming back because it means it must be worth their effort. I would hope that it is a well-paid job.
—Katie Robinson

Opining about Opinion
Re: Uncorked
Good on you for standing up for free speech, Evan. Anyone who chided you is simply blaming the messenger. And, in fact, demonstrating the inability to handle robust debate that I outlined in my original opinion piece.
— Paul Davidson
