Re: “Budget for 6.81% rates raise”
Love the fact they stress that it’s a less price hike than last year, like it’s a good thing. It’s still a large increase year on year; that means less money per household year on year. I really hope Council does not waste this money and utilizes it for our community.
—Dominic Calder
We can’t afford the continual rate increases. I see pensioners out on the street.
—Sharon Gudgeon
Stop dumb spending; we would not need rates rises.
—Anthony Booker
Since everyone else has had to cut back costs, time the MDC cut back some unnecessary staff.
—Hamish Marfell
Thanks for nothing.

Re: What’s the Story?
That’s a great response MDC. Finally getting back to normal.
—Karl Cunningham
Thanks for this reporting. Too much of opposite extremes happening in these cases – lack of in-depth consultation by officials; overreacting and outright conspiracy on the part of some community members.
Same thing happening with Government’s conservation proposals right now.
