“When you really love what you do, there are no limits to what you can achieve,” remarked Jacqueline Hocquard, a Blenheim-born artist and one of the vendors who had a display space at the 2026 Marlborough Home & Garden Show over the weekend.
Jacqueline has been a stallholder at the event for six years. Hosted annually at Marlborough Lines Stadium 2000, the Home & Garden Show offers an opportunity not only for small business owners, such as Jacqueline, but also for larger companies to interact face-to-face with local people.
“I’m very grateful to be able to do this,” she said. “It’s events like these that get me out of the studio meeting such lovely people.”
Hundreds of people of all ages passed through the doors on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They encountered new experiences and ideas, sampled artisan products and gathered inspiration for their homes, gardens and lifestyles.
From health to heating, beds to bonsais, e-bikes to eco products, a wide range of local and nationwide businesses showcased products.
With watercolour and acrylic paintings adorning the walls of her exhibition space, Jacqueline said she began creating art at age 10. She is self-taught, and her career has taken her all around the world. Jacqueline’s works consist of landscapes and flowers and all kinds of animals, from emus to snails and everything in between.
Summing up the show for many who came, Jacqueline said: “I just really love it.”
