Maadi Cup claimed on Coast

Marlborough have retained hockey’s Maadi Cup after the senior men’s rep side won both games at the annual event, staged in Greymouth on 17-18 July.

The 73rd tournament was contested by sides from Marlborough, Nelson and West Coast.

On Friday Marlborough beat West Coast 5-3, then followed up with a 5-2 win over Nelson to claim the silverware in fine style.
