Who will be the next Lucy Blakiston? In terms of the New Zealander of the Year Awards, Marlburians will have a say in who gets honoured in 2027.
Nominations opened on Tuesday and will continue through 18 August, with the announcement of semi-finalists in December.
Lucy is 2026’s Young New Zealander of the Year; other categories recognise a senior, local hero, innovator, sustainability leader and community. The topline award is New Zealander of the Year.
