Omaka benefit
In a fundraiser for its expansion project, Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre will give aircraft buffs a rare opportunity to step inside the Spirit of Douglas DC-3 as part of a benefit luncheon on 8 August.

The event inside the Dangerous Skies exhibition represents the only chance for members of the public to go onboard the plane during her visit.

Water board
Council appointed a five-member board to govern the water services organisation launching next winter, with Port Marlborough Chair Warren McNabb as this board’s chair.

Marlborough Waters Ltd’s other directors are Kevin Lavery, Pat Dougherty, Rōpata Taylor and Murray Strong – all from outside the region. Government’s Local Water Done Well legislation requires an independent board with no members serving in elected office or on Council staff.

Marlborough Waters will assume Council’s responsibility for providing drinking water, wastewater and stormwater services on 1 July 2027.

Farm accounts
A six-hour workshop focusing on the business side of farming will come to Marlborough on Thursday (30 July), a day after a session in Upper Moutere.

Mastering Your Farm Financials will start at 9:15am at the Blenheim library branch. The presentation will apply regardless of accounting software utilised.
