Pianist Barbara Song and violinist Samuel Lee will dedicate their talents to a good cause with a pair of performances.

Their Celebrating Spring Fundraising Concert on 23 August at Whitehaven Theatre will benefit the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter Trust. Saturday (15 August) at noon, the duo will play a promotional concert at the Blenheim library.

Doorway to haven
The Fairy Grove’s assemblage of fanciful portals will grow wider on Saturday afternoon (15 August) when Marlburians bring new “fairy doors” to Mark Smith Reserve.

The event, 1-4pm off Turnbull Drive, will include an ice cream truck and a coffee cart. Grove host Nurture@Home Marlborough welcomes gold coin donations.

Vintners on verge
Two rising vintners will represent Marlborough in New Zealand Wine’s national finals on 25-27 August in Martinborough.

Kris Godsall from Cloudy Bay will compete for Young Viticulturist of the Year, and Nick Lamain of Isabel Estate will vie for Young Winemaker of the Year.

North Canterbury’s Joshua Irving will be the first to contend in both finals in the same year.
