Records tumbled during the annual Marlborough Girls’ College swimming sports at Stadium 2000 on Friday, 14 August.

Setting three new marks was nationally-ranked swimmer Nicola Lovell, who competed in the under-19 section.

Her 100m breaststroke time of 1.19.62 eclipsed the former record of 1.20.77 set by Josie Kydd in 2012. In the 100m backstroke she recorded 1.09.57, beating the previous mark of 1.11.86 set by her sister Jessica Lovell in 2025. Nicola also shattered the school 50m breaststroke mark of 37.72, set by Minnette Richards in 2022, covering the distance in 36.35.

Nicola Lovell dives off the starting blocks on her way to another school record.
