Collaboration, communication and parking were among the key topics discussed at a Business Trust Marlborough marketing workshop held at Scenic Hotel last Tuesday.
About 30 people attended, representing a mix of hospitality and retail businesses from the CBD. Marlborough District councillor Ben Stace and Tua Faitotoa from Fulton Hogan, the main contractor for the CBD revamp were also in attendance.
Attendees heard that the works are progressing on schedule, with night-shift work being prioritised where possible to reduce disruption to businesses.
Parking emerged as a significant concern during discussions, with participants making it clear the issue remains a priority. A matter that is being actively raised at council.
Other ideas explored included night markets and collaborative advertising opportunities. Business Trust Marlborough says it will use feedback and insights from the workshop to develop resources for participating businesses.
Rather than being a one-off event, the trust hopes to hold similar workshops in the future to continue sharing ideas and exploring opportunities for the CBD.
