Grocery Grab raises 30k

Witherlea School students have helped raise almost $30,000 through the school's annual grocery grab fundraiser.
The grocery grab at New World Blenheim took place before the doors opened to the public last Thursday, with students taking responsibility for selling tickets and organising the event.
The long-running partnership between Witherlea School and New World has continued under the store's new owner, Chris Williams.
"I'm happy to be able to help the school. Providing groceries for families and some fundraising for the school at the same time is a win-win. We're delighted to be a part of it."
Kylie Sheard, from Friends of Witherlea School and part of the organising committee, says the event continues to be a highlight for students and the wider school community.
"It's always a real buzz, the kids just love it and it creates such an energy in the school. We've raised just shy of $30,000 for the school and this money will be used for device and technology upgrades as well as a Pasifika tutor which is a brand new role to the school. A massive thank you to Chris and the New World team and everyone that bought tickets and was a part of the event."
