Steve Mitchell and Tasman Rugby Union Incorporated (TRU) have reached a confidential agreement resolving the employment proceedings between them.

TRU has withdrawn all allegations of serious misconduct made against Steve in connection with his dismissal. Steve has withdrawn his personal grievance.

The parties acknowledge they have different perspectives on the future direction of Tasman Rugby Union and how best to achieve the union’s objectives. They have agreed that Steve’s employment will conclude by agreement.

The settlement brings the substantive proceeding to an end and allows both parties to move forward.

TRU acknowledges Steve’s significant contribution to rugby throughout the Tasman region, particularly as operations manager and more recently as chief executive.

The parties agree Steve leaves TRU with his head held high.

TRU thanked Steve for his service and wished him every success in his future professional and community endeavours.
