Freeman Roofing recognised again as top workplace

A Blenheim roofing business has again been recognised among New Zealand’s leading places to work.

Freeman Roofing’s Blenheim team is celebrating after the company was named a finalist in the Medium Workplace (100–149 Employees) category of the 2026 Best Places to Work Awards.

The recognition marks the second consecutive year Freeman Roofing has been named a finalist and includes the Blenheim branch, which is part of the company’s network of 11 manufacturing branches across New Zealand.

Based in Marlborough, the Blenheim team has built strong relationships with local roofers, builders and customers, with local knowledge and personal service playing a key role in the branch’s success.

Blenheim branch manager Craig Smart says the team’s culture is reflected in the service customers receive.

“We’re a close team here in Blenheim and people are always willing to help each other out. That carries through to the way we look after our customers too, so it’s great to have the team recognised in this way.”

The Best Places to Work Awards recognise organisations across New Zealand that listen to their people and focus on creating strong workplace experiences through leadership, workplace practices and culture.

With nearly 70 years in the roofing industry, Freeman Roofing operates 11 full-service roll-forming facilities throughout New Zealand, with locally based teams manufacturing and supplying roofing and rainwater products to their communities.

The winners of the 2026 Best Places to Work Awards will be announced at a gala dinner on Thursday, 22 October.
