Armed police are responding to a family harm incident in central Blenheim.
Emergency crews are at the scene of the incident at Park Terrace after being called at 5.10pm.
A police spokesperson says there is no risk to the wider community as the incident is confined to the address.
Ambulance crews are also on standby near the scene at three seperate safety points.
Members of the Armed Offenders Squad and extra officers have been called in from Nelson.
