Big break for Marlborough’s basketballers

Marlborough Basketball represented in Auckland over the weekend, cheering the New Zealand Breakers on to a big victory on Saturday night.

As part of the BNZ Court of Dreams competition in Auckland, the travelling team played the opening game on the Spark Arena court and watched as the Breakers won 106-75 over the South East Melbourne Phoenix.

The team then caught up with Breakfast’s Matt Gibb for a TV appearance on the show this Thursday (January 25) morning.

The happy winners then celebrated Breakers mascot Cheeky the Kea’s 21st birthday and met the Breakers team after the game – with lucky player Pippa winning paper scissors rock to take home Izayah Le’afa’s game singlet.
