A kind-hearted gesture to help Marlborough’s school children has seen wine industry bosses join forces to create a bottle of bubbles with a difference.
A limited release Méthode Traditionnelle NV from Borough Wine is out just in time for the festive season.
And all proceeds will be donated to the Graeme Dingle Foundation which runs educational programmes throughout many Marlborough schools.
From the grapes to the bottling, every aspect of this wine has been generously donated by individuals and organisations across the wine industry.
The latest addition to the Borough range was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Wither Hills, Lion, MCC Labels, Alex Lloyd Creative, Charta, Wineworks, and No 1 Family Estate.
Spokesperson Michelle Burns says being part of the project has been a privilege.
“This has been a few years in the making, so having something special like this at the end is incredibly rewarding.
“The team has been excited to play a part, and we feel privileged to have had such strong support behind us—it shows we must be doing something right.”
Borough Wine and Socially Good Enterprises are non-profit ventures run by volunteers to support the Graeme Dingle Foundation.
The limited first release of 1,800 bottles is now available, having undergone its final taste test with Graeme Dingle Foundation staff.
Michelle hopes this new creation, described as having crisp apple, toasted almond, and shortcrust pastry notes, will resonate with wine lovers.
“Made primarily from Chardonnay grapes, this Méthode Traditionnelle NV has been aged on lees for over 18 months.
“It’s been a truly special journey, and we’re thrilled to finally share it.”
