Blenheim Golf Club played host to a full Friday of fun, as teams from across the region helped support local healthcare.

The biannual Hospice Marlborough Golf tournament saw 22 teams from golf clubs, local businesses and friends supporting the local palliative care provider through a day on the course.

Hospice Marlborough Events & Engagement Lead Leigh Somerville says through food purchases, auctions, raffles, tee sponsorships and donations so far, more than $7,000 has been raised towards a new overhead hoist with the Rapid Relief Team donating another $10,000 towards the upcoming renovation.

“It was a really successful day, as Hospice really thrives on the support of our community, supporters and local businesses to help get a great day out off the ground," Leigh says.

“A massive thank you to Jane Ingram, the Blenheim Golf Club, all the region’s golf clubs for their support, our main event sponsor MotorWorld and the Rapid Relief Team for catering.

“Events like this mean we can continue providing important palliative care thanks to the generosity of our community."
