Two injured in SH63 motorcycle crash

A person has been airlifted to Nelson Hospital in a serious condition following a motorcycle crash on State Highway 63.

Emergency services were called to the crash, near Rainbow Road, St Arnaud, at about 12.30pm today.

The two-vehicle motorcycle crash injured two and partially blocked the road.

A Hato Hone St John spokesman says a helicopter and a rapid response vehicle responded.

"One patient in serious condition was taken to Nelson Hospital via helicopter. One other patient was assessed and treated at the scene," the spokesman says.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman says two motorcycles were involved.

One truck from the Lake Rotoiti Volunteer Fire Brigade, police, Hato Hone St John and the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter responded to the crash.
