Rapaura Springs Garden Marlborough has been cancelled for the first time in its 28-year history.

Organisers say they can not hold the event with current Covid Alert Level 2 restrictions.

Garden Marlborough president Tim Crawford says the committee and staff have worked through every different scenario in the hope they could avoid cancelling the event.

“But unless we can safely offer a truly memorable and full Garden Marlborough experience to our guests, we cannot go ahead,” he says.

“Garden Marlborough is one of the busiest weekends in Marlborough’s event calendar, and we are very aware there will be a lot of disappointed people. But for now, we must look forward to hosting our guests in our beautiful region in November 2022”.

With record-breaking ticket sales to date, Marlborough’s largest four-day event was shaping up to be the best ever, organisers say. But with physical distancing required at all events, and Auckland remaining at Alert level three, the event became untenable.

Tickets will be refunded less a $10 dollar per ticket administration fee to help cover costs already incurred.

If you booked and paid for your tickets online via the Garden Marlborough website, monies will be refunded back to your credit card. For all other bookings, the Garden Marlborough team will be in touch to organise a refund.
