Serious crash on SH6

Emergency crews are at the scene of a serious crash near Havelock.

Drivers travelling between Blenheim and Nelson can expect delays this morning as emergency services and contractors attend a crash near Havelock on State Highway 6.

The two-vehicle crash was reported just before 7am, blocking the road for almost an hour. A helicopter was called to the accident site.

A spokesperson from Waka Katohi says one lane is open to traffic but drivers should expect delays.

"State Highway 6 is now open to one lane under stop/go traffic management following a crash near Havelock earlier this morning.

Drivers  can expect delays when travelling between Blenheim and Nelson and should allow extra time for their journeys.

Road users must take extra care when driving through the crash site and follow all instructions from emergency services and road crews."
