INDER, John Rex (M.N.Z.M)

5 April 1935 – 6 February 2026.  

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in his 91^st year.  Much loved husband of the late Gabrielle, father to Catherine, Michael, Richard, Rachel and companion to Puddy.

John lived a life of service and care for others. A gentleman, always kind and generous with his time for others. He loved adventure — whether on the tennis court, cycling, sailing or spending time in the mountains. He was a much-loved father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather, cherished by his children, and a valued friend to many.

Forever loved and will be sadly missed.

A memorial celebration of John’s life will be held at the Springlands Chapel, Cloudy Bay Funeral Services, 15 Boyce Street Blenheim on Thursday, 26 February at 1.30pm.
