Youngsters relish hockey tuition

Marlborough’s aspiring hockey players took full advantage of the chance to learn from the best at College Park last week.

Chris Leslie, a former New Zealand rep player and women’s Black Sticks assistant coach for 20 years, held a three-day coaching programme for children, ranging from year 3-10.

Chris, who is director of coaching at GOALab Hockey, joined forces with local coach Matt Hair to facilitate four sessions each day, bringing the youngsters up to date with the latest training techniques.
