On 6 January 2024, peacefully at Bethsaida Hospital Wing with family at his side, after a very short illness, aged 83 years.  Dearly loved husband and soulmate of Jeanette.  Much loved and respected Dad of Trevor and Leanne; Marie and Craig Nicol; Dianne and Bryce MacDonald.  Adored Grandad Mike of Chay and Mansyn; “Old Mate” of Mark and Geena; and Quinn, and Great Grandad of Kaizic.  A loved brother, brother-in-law and uncle.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimers Society would be appreciated as this is where Mike volunteered as a driver (Acc. No. 02 0600 0112284 00 Ref: Harris). 

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Maxwell Road on Wednesday 10 January at 11.00am followed by interment at the Fairhall Cemetery.  For those that can’t attend, the service will be livestreamed and can be viewed on the Cloudy Bay Funeral Services website.
