Jack bags medal at swim champs

Blenheim swimmer Jack Bugler is making the most of his time at the New Zealand Open Swimming champs in Auckland.

Yesterday Jack swam personal bests in the heats of the 50 fly and 200m freestyle events in the morning then capped off his day with a bronze medal in the final of the freestyle race.

On day one, Jack finished fifth in the men’s 100m backstroke multi-class event, with a personal best time of 1.20.04, an improvement of 2.53 seconds on his previous best.

Para swimmers in all classes compete together in the final and are scored against the world record in their classification.
